MANAGING DIRECTOR

Peter founded Aspire Strategy in 2011, prior to which for fourteen years Peter was Managing Director and Owner of Valad Property Group, an ASX listed real estate investment group whose core business is value-adding real estate.
Peter joined Valad as co-owner in 1997, and grew the business from AUM of approx AUD$5 million to approximately AUD$20 billion with offices in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada and 14 European countries (+30 offices). He was Founder and Chairman of Valad’s European operations.
Before joining Valad, Peter held senior positions at Lend Lease in a 10 year career that included establishing their funds management operations in Paris, London and Singapore. Peter has an honours degree in engineering from the University of New South Wales.
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Brett has over 30 years’ experience in real estate, covering all aspects from development, repositioning, asset management, financing, structuring, and funds management.
Brett is a key leader in the Aspire Strategy business, drawing on his experience of having lived and worked in Brisbane, Sydney, Singapore, and Hong Kong, covering most markets and sectors in Asia, Australia, and Europe.
Brett was a founding shareholder of MGPA for 10 years until it was sold to Blackrock, prior to which he held senior positions at Lend Lease for 17 years.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Soh Eng Lam is a successful entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience in travel and property. Drawing upon his network developed in these industries, he provides Aspire Strategy with business development knowhow and passion. He is skilled at creating prosperous collaborative relationships.
Eng Lam has been a long term owner of a travel agency, a fleet of tour coaches and a large chain of travel-related retail businesses. He has held the distributorships and agencies of several high-end international fashion goods including LongChamp, Karl Lagerfeld, Swarovski, L’Occitane and Pollini.
Eng Lam hails from a prominent construction family that produced many iconic buildings in Singapore including the Tanglin Club, McDonald House, the Orchid Hotel, the Indian Bank Building and the Olivetti Building. They hold a significant interest in a global real estate development company and hotel property development & management group.
In Australia Eng Lam has been a long term financier of joint venture real estate developments creating residential lifespaces, the largest of which was valued at AUD$1.2 billion.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Chris has worked in the finance industry for over 25 years including senior roles in one of Australia’s leading banks, which included senior management positions in portfolio management, global credit, national project teams, business development, sales and leadership roles.
Chris’ profound knowledge of the finance industry and markets is significant in Aspire Strategy’s access to and execution of opportunities.
Chris was the director and co-founder of a successful debt advisory firm and has held a principal lending & finance role in a publicly listed accounting & financial services firm.
Chris’s experience in the industry covers all aspects of finance including development, construction and corporate Finance.
SENIOR PROJECT EXECUTIVE

Ong Fook Sin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Professional Project Consultant with over 30 year experience in many types of development projects. FookSin provides Aspire Strategy with leadership in the fields of project, planning, management and delivery.
FookSin has worked with many country systems and cultures in the Australasia Region. His main focus is in investment project studies and drawing up development project execution plans, and managing projects implementation through the whole life cycle of a project.
FookSin has held top management positions in MNC multi-disciplinary consultancies. His latest position was with Surbana International, a Singapore based multi-disciplinary consultancy, in the capacity of Managing Director of Group Project Management Business Unit with over 700 people and managing development projects of over SGD$1 billion in value, annually.
FookSin has built his career through the Franklin + Andrews Group before merging with the Mott MacDonald Group, an International multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy to head the Group’s China Project Management Business Unit, working mainly on FDI and major Chinese companies’ investment projects in the real estate development, hospitality, manufacturing, infrastructure and energy sectors.
ANALYST
Through his Finance major at the University of Sydney, Alex brings thorough numerical analysis and understanding. His other majors in International Business and in English Literature reflect his wide ranging interests and pursuits.
Alex has financial experience as a risk paraplanner at Curo Financial Services, and legal exposure through his role as a Junior Clerk at Nigel Bowen Chambers.
Alex has a developing interest in entrepreneurship, with a focus on sustainable investment and recently won the People’s Choice Award in the Sydney Genesis start-up accelerator.
Alex has been keenly involved in a number of social enterprises and volunteer organisations and is currently a Student Mentor for the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience, a start-up success story that supports Indigenous high-school students to transition to University or to the workforce. Previously, he has been a Student Leader with the LINK Widening Participation Program, and volunteered with Human Rights Watch and Matthew Talbot Hostel.

Roy has been a trusted advisor for 20 years. As the Managing Director of Altus Financial since founding the business in 1992, Roy works with privately owned businesses, advising on business performance, strategy, acquisitions and divestments, change management as well as the more traditional SME-specific taxation, legal and accounting compliance issues. Roy leads a talented team focused on guiding clients through their business and personal financial journey
Andrew has been providing informal strategic advice to Aspire Strategy since its inception in 2011. As a professional business consultant, Andrew’s experience over 25 years provides his clients with strategic business advice. During this time, he worked extensively in Australasia, North America and Africa, where he is currently resides. Andrew’s experience includes time as the Asia-Pacific General Manager of an IBM acquired business, where he was a major contributor to what was considered to be their most successful acquisition. In his own right, Andrew is a hands-on investor and property manager of his family office portfolio of commercial and residential properties in Australia and South Africa.
Peter Madhavan has been a trusted advisor for more than 20 years. Dato' Peter founded Madhavan Partnership in 1983, where he was managing partner. His firm merged with Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP in 2010. Dato’ Peter’s practice focuses on civil, commercial, insurance litigation and corporate law. He was closely involved in the Advoc Asia, Advoc Europe and Advoc Latin America global legal networks fostering regional and cross border cooperation between independent firms. Dato’ Peter served as a council member of the Law Society for several years and chaired sub-committees including the Compulsory Professional Insurance Sub-Committee. Dato’ Peter also served as a panel member for the Law Society’s Inquiry Committee and was a member of the Singapore Academy of Law’s Special Task Force. He was appointed honorary consul for the Oriental Republic of Uruguay in Singapore in 2000, a post he held until retiring in July 2009. He is a long standing member of the Singapore Cricket Club, Captain of the Laguna National Golf and Country Club, and a former Honorary Racing Steward of the Singapore Turf Club.
Steve Wallace began his career in the accounting sector with prominent Australian company Lend Lease. His career progressed in the direction of entrepreneurial start-ups across a range of industries. As founder and director of Wallace Industries an agricultural and plumbing supplies company, Steve had great successes growing the company’s turnover over a short period. Following this Bushman Group was founded, and in just 8 years became the largest national rotational moulder in Australia, and eventually sold for a significant sum to a US listed group looking to expand in Australia. Steve is co-founder and director of Westend Investments, a Private Equity business dealing in distressed corporate workouts and foreclosures. Steve was an early investor in the entertainment distribution industry, and in partnership with Australia’s dominant distributor Video Ezy, Steve is the largest individual investor in DVD rental kiosks in Australasia.
