At Aspire Strategy we believe in contributing to our community in positive ways. Our people have been proud supporters of community groups for more than twenty years. Currently we support the following charity in financial and non-financial ways.
Indigenous Marathon Foundation
IMF combines our love of running with a desire to contribute positively to our indigenous community. The Indigenous Marathon Project uses running to drive change and instil self-belief by training and mentoring a group of Indigenous Australians aged 18-30 to run the world’s biggest marathon – the New York City Marathon.
In the last seven years, 65 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island men and women have found the dedication and resilience to overcome considerable adversity to achieve goals they never thought possible because of the help of IMF. Now they have returned to their communities as inspirational role models who have had a significant impact and continue to drive change, through establishing their own fitness groups, running groups and continually promoting the benefits of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
Peter Hurley said “I had the pleasure of meeting Rob and several members of the IMF team on the flight to the U.S. for the New York Marathon in November 2014. I was so impressed with their mission, I have been following and supporting them ever since. Rob is a pretty impressive fellow – not only for his remarkable running, but for the time and commitment he has dedicated to this and other causes aimed at supporting and improving wellbeing and combating childhood obesity.”
In 2017 Peter and Brett are planning to cycle from Adelaide to Darwin in support of Rob de Castella’s Indigenous Marathon Foundation. They will visit a number of remote communities along the way and hope to raise funds and awareness for this great cause. More information and details to follow.
